Discover the sealing method that best suits your business based on the product

What type of heat-sealing systems exist?

In the previous post, we discussed that there are different tray sealing systems depending on the product to be packaged: conventional sealing, gas flushing, vacuum and gas sealing (MAP - Modified Atmosphere Packaging), Skin Pack ISO sealing (in trays), and Skin up sealing (in sealable cartons).

Conventional Sealing

Conventional sealing involves the simple hermetic sealing of food in trays.
This process helps keep food fresh and hygienic during storage until its natural expiration, offering a good presentation.
This system is ideal for packaging prepared meals in food stores.

Gas Flushing System

Gas flushing is a packaging technique used to improve product preservation.
During the sealing process, an inert gas mixture is injected into the tray to displace oxygen, thereby extending shelf life and maintaining the color, texture, and flavor of the packaged food.
Depending on the type and morphology of the product, long preservation periods can be achieved.

This system is ideal for preserving prepared meals and fresh foods.

Vacuum and Gas Sealing (MAP)

Among all the advantages of MAP packaging, we highlight:

  • Maintaining the organoleptic properties of the product by preventing oxidation, which can preserve the red color of fresh meat, depending on the gas used.

  • Prolonging shelf life.

  • Improving product presentation by preserving its shapes and colors.

  • Enhancing food safety by inhibiting the growth of bacteria and microorganisms without the need for chemical preservative

Depending on the product and gas mixture, foods can be preserved for extended periods.

Skin Pack ISO Sealing (in trays) and Skin up (in flat cartons)

Vacuum Skin Pack ISO packaging in trays and Skin up in cartons use a film that perfectly conforms to the product's contour, creating a hermetic seal against the ambient atmosphere.
This type of packaging is suitable for preserving fresh meat, sausages and meat products, poultry, fish, and cheeses, whether fresh, refrigerated, or frozen.

Among all the advantages of Skin packaging in trays and/or cartons, we highlight:

  • The "second skin" effect helps preserve the freshness and conservation of foods.

  • Keeps the product in place, preventing movement.

  • Retains the product's natural juices.

  • Allows for vertical display of the package.

  • Enhances and highlights the product, differentiating it from the competition.

  • Avoids the use of inert gas.

Depending on the product, foods can be preserved for extended periods.
